The residents should be more than thankful that many lives have been given freely by service pesonnel over the years so they can have the freedom to object! It just shows the contempt that the servicemen & women are held within this country. GOOD LUCK, HOPE COMMON SENSE & DECENCY IS SHOWN BY THE COUNCIL & DON'T LET THE NIMBYs Win.

I fully support the work by both SSAFA and ARRSE to bring this issue to its rightful and honourable solution.
Those who protest against the right for these disabled folk to have a home where their loved ones may rest their weary heads; shame on you all.

To Brian of Essex: Firstly it is Our Government who put our military in harms way. You may not support the current wars in far away places but that is the fault of our Government and not the servicemen and women. Yes they know the risks, and yes they signed up for it. It takes a much braver person than I to do it. Remember they are there to defend our Queen and country.
Those that serve our nation deserve our respect, more so those who lay down their lives or are severely wounded. It is the least we can do to make sure the wounded receive the best possible medical care. It is our duty.
A charity has gone to great lengthes to support the families of our wounded servicemen and women. However, a few local residents are more worried about their house prices and half a dozen extra vehicles driving down their little piece of England than the welfare of our Armed Forces. Remember who defended that little piece of England not so long ago!

When I lost my leg in 1966, I was fortunate to be cared for in a military hospital and my visiting relatives were suitably accommodated, with respect and without fuss. Today, we have no such luxuries for our wounded personnel and the mere fact there is local resistance by the neighbours to this planning application is nothing short of being utterly disgraceful! They should hang their heads in shame. I fully support the planning application.

I may have only served our country as a TA soldier, but such opposition makes my blood boil. How can people be so short sighted? OUr councils will quite happily provide accomodation to immigrants and asylm seekers but when our service personnel need help, it all goes wrong. As with many things these days, many people forget what our service personnel do for our country, so un selfishly. I have signed the petition without hesitation and would actively encourage anyone visiting the site to do so too. Good luck to SSAFA and everyone involved in this most welcome project.

The worst case of NIMBYism I have ever heard! Well done to all at ARRSE for supporting our wounded servicemen and women, your efforts are inspirational.
I urge all readers of this site to sign the Downing Street petition and write a letter / email to the MVDC in support of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association's application to open a Family Support Centre in Grays Lane, Ashtead - ARRSE has given us the tools, now let's finish the job!!!

I am an officer in the RAF VR(t). When asked by 1 of my cadets as to why this issue is so important to so many people my answer was simple. Once in never out, When you join a branch of the services you become part of a very big extended family, a family which encompases not just the service men and women but their families as well. this house will help members of this family so much and I for one can't understand these objections at all. There is only one true and proper course of action for Mole Valley council to follow and that is so oblivous isn't
