Well done I believe you are setting up much needed facility, Wives husbands girlfriends boyfriends Children, Parents all need support and a bed for the night is not much to ask. It is very easy to support someone that has been injured it’s quite often visual not always I agree. The families are often forgotten, this has been a trauma to them also, I wish this had been around when my husband (retired RAF ) had a road traffic accident and spent 6 months in RAF Halton hospital and a few weeks at Headley Court. God bless them he made a full recovery.
Do these people think they are going to have party’s every night? I support all your efforts well done to everyone and thank you for bring this to our attention.

The supreme effort and probity displayed in this campaign is nothing short of awesome, reminding me just why I'm proud of our Nation. There will always be a few leading iniquitous lives, absent of morality and integrity, who care not of their inconsiderate actions. The actions of these few must not be permitted to impair others' lives, particulary those who's own moral courage is so outstanding. Stand fast, all, we shall succeed.
God bless 36 Grays Lane, and all who sail in her!

I am a ex RN Chief PO who served for 25 years and in the Falklands. It seems that Nimbies would like you to and fight and die for them but please dont live near them or expect help.
Rudyard Kipling I believe wrote "Tommy Atkins do this! Tommy Atkins do that! and when its over and band starts to play! its go away!"
Best of luck You are not forgotten!

Well done the Blue Team! Shame on the selfish, heartless rabble who have opposed this much needed facility, and brought discredit to the remainder of Ashtead. Hopefully they will become the social outcasts of the area.

The objectors may be puzzled as to why so much wrath has descended on them. Perhaps excerpts from 2 of Rudyard Kipling’s poems may help them understand :-
"My son," said the Norman Baron, "I am dying, and you will be heir To all the broad acres in England that William gave me for share When he conquered the Saxon at Hastings, and a nice little handful it is. But before you go over to rule it I want you to understand this:--
"The Saxon is not like us Normans. His manners are not so polite. But he never means anything serious till he talks about justice and right. When he stands like an ox in the furrow--with his sullen set eyes on your own, And grumbles, 'This isn't fair dealing,' my son, leave the Saxon alone.
"You can horsewhip your Gascony archers, or torture your Picardy spears; But don't try that game on the Saxon; you'll have the whole brood round your ears. From the richest old Thane in the county to the poorest chained serf in the field, They'll be at you and on you like hornets, and, if you are wise, you will yield.
(Norman & Saxon)
And from Tommy :-
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace. For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!" But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot; An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please; An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees!
We may only have a handful in the Services these days but there was a time virtually every man wore uniform and the ethos was well understood by all "you stood by your mates through thick & thin".
I strongly support the provision of this families’ accommodation as just a small thank you to those, who have given so much.

As a SSAFA Divisional Secretary I know how important it is for an injured person to have their family & loved ones around them as they recover. Well done to all concerned for their assistance to us.

I cannot believe anyone would object to a house being used for a quiet home from home for the families of our country's most honourable citizens. The people who objected to this, especially those who have done it under the guise of trying to appear concerned for the welfare of our soldiers, should hang their heads in shame.
I hope decency prevails and the families get the facility they so desparately need.

I cannot believe that anybody would object to this type of facility in their village. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

Well done with the campaign. Keep up the good work.
I sincerely hope that what is being done here gives the objectors pause for thought.
