My husband is a Headley Court and i think it's disgraceful that residents are opposing this house. Do they not understand what the men and women based there have sacrificed for their country. My husband nearly died, doing a job in Afghanistan, that he didn't even believe in. He did it because thats what our country asked of him. The least these people can do is let the families of injured personnell have a comfy place to stay during a heartbreaking time in their lives! Come on guys, have a heart!

I was appalled to read of the ungrateful behavior and attitude of the local residents.

I was appalled at the comments and objections made by the residents, this just shows how much society has changed over the years when people are more interested in thier own little world and have no regards for the members of the Armed Forces that are doing the bidding of the government, which they themselves voted in power. These people should hang thier heads in shame for the comments made, we are talking one house not an estate,it would have been nice to have these residents open thier arms and welcome families, even to the point of helping where needed, a kind word would go a long way to a devastated family. Keep up the excellent work and the very best of luck

Well done Blue Team! If ever there was a cause that needed our support, this is it. Perhaps we should all think of doing more to support and help SSAFA as well?

Having been on active service myself I reckon there are 3 issues here: 1. Our government should be providing free facilities for families of wounded servicemen/women and it shouldn't have to be up to dedicated people like those who are running this excellent campaign to have to work so hard for what is so obviously right. The government are a disgrace. 2. The selfishness of those objecting to the proposed use of the building is an utter disgrace. I can't begin to understand how these people can face to look at themselves in the mirror, they should be deeply ashamed to call themselves British. 3.This excellent campaign shows our men and women on active service that they have huge support from those of us in this country that really care about them. Any serviceman or woman reading this please rest assured that there is huge respect for you from so many of us in the UK. Please don't be angered or upset by those objecting to the proposed plan- they are beneath contempt.

Like many I am an ex serviceman (RAF Medic) it is appalling that there have been objections to this planning application. The residents should be ashamed. Instead of objecting they should be forming a committee to see how they can help and assist the families when they visit.
Shame on them.

Well Done Zoe and the Ex Airborne Forces FOC Website for putting this issue under the glare of public opinion. These are BADLY WOUNDED British Soldiers we are talking about here.Remember the word BRITISH?... as in our OWN...OURS! These boys have given their best and now should we. We can not let these NIMBYS stop this. This accomodation must open. Has to.
