I am an ex-serviceman who served in the RN for 34 years, I am a Veteran of the Falklands War in 1982 and the First Gulf War in 1991. I Fully support this application by SSAFA (IT'S NOTHING TO DO WITH THE M.O.D.!!!)
This accommodation is needed now and there is no time for a new build (even if there was somewhere to build, which there isn't). The aquiring of this protery by SSAFA, and importance of the facility, is of National Importance and in Planning Law that should override an minor inconvenience for the Local Residents of Grays Lane (not that there will be any - despite what they are "Claiming" without grounds).
The Objections raised are either wrong or flawed.
If you have not yet sent a letter of Support to the Mole Planning Officer then PLEASE do so without delay. Please just stick to refuting the Objections and do not bring emotive or anger into your letter and emphasise the National Importance over Local Issues.
Likewise if you haven't signed the Downing Street petition then plese do so NOW.
Good luck to all concerned in this campaign.

Proud to be British. Proud to support those serving our nation, Proud to support their families as well. ..and so pleased that I am not one of those that would oppose the planning application.
If you can read, thank a teacher. For the fact that we are a free nation thank a soldier.

Wonder what these people would say if they ever need the help from the military? Blood boiling, so must calm down. Hopefully this time the many will overcome the few.

Well done guys and gals who have implemented this. It's a hugely worthy cause, the likes of which should never have been opposed by a bunch of hypocritical uncaring residents.

To the objecting Residents of Ashstead,
Your Fathers', Grandfathers' and Great Grandfathers' fought for your right to object. Would you have done your families out of place to visit when they were injured?
No? I didn't think so and you should be ashamed of yourselves for sinking this low.
To those Residents of Ashstead who support the purchase of 36 Gray's Lane, a BIG thank you.

Great job from all of you. These people are quite unbelievable in their mean spirits, really not the sort we would want in our leafy lane!
Perhaps their concerns about falling property values will be realised when the world sees exactly what sort of neighbours they would make!

excellent website, supporting those who have given selflessly on our behalf. I support SSAFA and their proposal to provide succour for these greviously injured servicemen/women.
