During my Service career friends and colleagues benefitted from Headley Court's brilliant rehabilitation teams. Had a family facility been available nearby then the trauma would have been reduced and recovery all the quicker. Surely the Grays Lane plans can only be for the good of us all. Please - Objecting Resisidents - think again and examine your consciences for your real reasons for objecting. Money?

The response here has been absolutely amazing - sincere thanks to every single person who's responded. And to the rest of the team.
As the meeting on the 1st draws near, a personal requests:
First, if you haven't signed the petition yet, then PLEASE do it now!
We honestly believe in what we're asking and the more people who show that they agree, the better chance we have of convincing everyone that what we're asking is right. Both morally and legally.
Thank you all.

This facility is needed today not tomorrow or next week or next year. Service personnel should be able to go on operations knowing that we at home will everything in our power to care for them and their families at time of need.
i would be proud if these people at such a time of trouble and distress lived in my community.
What price those who give service and in some cases the ultimate sacrifice for their Country.

Here's hoping that sense will prevail in the morning and that full planning permission will be granted. I'm proud to be joining so many people in lending my support in terms of signing the petition, writing to the council and spreading the word about this campaign.
I hope that the national media including TV are in attendance tomorrow in order to highlight this still further and expose the shameful attitudes and actions of the blinkered few.
Residents of Ashford, please make sure that your councillors know that they won't stand a chance of your vote unless they fully support this proposal and grant full planning permission to SSAFA.
Great work to all who have brought this to our attention and done so much to facilitate this massive expression of anger over the selfish and unsubstantiable views of a minority. There is no way that their way of life or property values are going to be affected one iota; theirs is just a case of snobbery and believing they are above others.
There is little point going over the arguments here where it would be 'preaching to the converted' but I fail to see any legal or moral reason why planning permission can not be rubber stamped. The road is well under used for its capacity, services are perfectly adequate, there will be no additional disturbance caused (in fact there will be less than the previous use of the property)... I could easily go on.
Lets hope that sense and an understanding that mass public pressure is to bear will sway the councils decision.

While I ca not in all honesty support British involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan I never the less feel that people that are injured whilst involved in conflict should have the best support when they are repatriated. Having spent considerable time at the QE Hospital Birmingham I know how important it is to have the family on hand to help in traumatic situations and to have reasonable family accomodation. Best of luck with your campaign.

As a serving member of the Army I am both saddened and disgusted by the attitude of these self serving, ignorant excuses for humanity. They are a disgrace to this country and should be ashamed of themselves. On a more postive note, good luck to those on the right side for the meeting tomorrow and also to those injured men and women who will be needing help ove rthe coming months and years.
