pricks. not in my back yard? not in yours..... sod off to headley and leave this alone. anywhere in the country. you don't need grays lane. don't begrudge successful people for not wanting disruption. take it to a s*** area, take politics home. filth Admin reply: Nice... Someone just got home from the pub... I don't believe the objectors are this illiterate or stupid... There's always one who thinks he's really clever... Trot along to bed son... You have a hangover awaiting in the morning...

As a naval chief petty officer's daughter who died as a result of injuries in WW2, and the wife of an ex Royal Marine, who served in many conflicts, I take great pride in signing the guestbook. Thank you for giving me the opportunity and my best wishes for your campaign.

I have had friends and colleagues who have had to make use of this marvellous facility. I'm truly saddened by the current issues surrounding the planning application.
I hope that the objections can be overcome and those concerned can see the great effect they are having on the families of our service people. I'm sure they have enough to contend with if they have relatives in rehabilitation, a place to stay close by is the least we can offer.

I am an ex-pat Brit, living in the USA, and, as a planner, previously employed in the UK, I am not at all surprised at the appallingly selfish attitude of the neighbours regarding this application. It is, unfortunately, very common. I wish you luck with the proposal, it makes perfect sense to me and those objectors should be ashamed of themselves.

I am at Headley Court at the minute and can't believe that anyone would not support the wonderful work that is being done at this facility.
I have spread the word amongst serving and ex-military members, many of them are as annoyed by this issue as I am.

I have read all about the, well, people(?) from Ashtead and have to say that after being born and spending the first 11 years of my life in Guildford, Surrey i now feel sick to the pit of my stomach to think that may-be, at one time, these people and my self shared in being part of the same, wider community of leafy Surrey. I have added my name to the Downing Street Petition. SSAFA will get all the support i am able to give.

Grays Lane is a very attractive and quiet residential road, I could hardly think of a better location for visiting families to stay. I hope your application is successful. I would also be absolutely delighted if it prompted some of the objecting and objectionable residents to move, they are a discredit to the community.

I was saddened and disgusted by the objections from the residents of Ashstead over this property.
I sincerely hope that the planners take on board all the comments and support that has been shown for this application and agree it.
With regards to the residents who objected, if they cannot see the effect their actions are having, and will continue to have on themselves then there is little point in wasting breath with these people.
You guys are doing a sterling job.

There are four Haig Homes estates in Ashtead housing ex-servicemen and their families. As a small community, the people of Ashtead have firmer links with the military than with the few scandalous, treacherous, NIMBY residents of Grays Lane and the surrounding area. I wish to publicly distance myself from them all; from the Ashtead Residents' Association, who have opposed the planning application; and from the spineless fence-sitter Chris Grayling-Ashtead resident and Conservative MP for Epsom and Ewell; I hope your conscience burns each time you hear of another loss in Iraq or Afghanistan and you should be made to greet each injured serviceman and woman who arrives back in the UK on late night flights, away from the prying eyes of the media. Land of hope and glory? My ARRSE.
