These residents do not desreve to live where they do. It would be marvellous to identify them and send them copies of what is written about them. I am disgusted that the system allows all this to happen. Admin reply: We get the feeling they've seen!

As a former member of the armed forces I cannot express my disgust for the attitude of these people in terms acceptable to a public forum.

As one of thousands of HC "Old Boys" (and girls) I am appaleed at MVDC for refusing permission. I am even more appalled at the inaction of the sitting MP. I urge all of you to email your MP and their party HQ irrespective of political affiliation. Use the BBC to find out details of how to contact your MP. Remember these people voted for war and now refuse to deal with the effects of their decision.

A huge well done for Tigs2 and the rest of 'Blue Team' for raising the profile of this affair, and the extra-ordinary selfishness of the objectors. On Aug 1 the Selfless will meet the Selfish in a commitee room somewhere in Surrey with huge national interest. If right is to prevail then the SSAFA planning application will be approved, but this is 21st Century Britain....

Whilst i do not agree with the fact that we are in both Iraq and Afghanistan i totally support our armed forces. They are professional and are extraordinarily brave. I am appalled at the selfish attitude of the residents association concerning Grays Lane.Their reasons for objecting are risable and obnoxious. Perhaps they would like to experience the dangers of service in a war zone to help them understand what our injured servicemen and women face on a daily basis. Good luck with your campaign.

Having read all the comments to date, I can only concur with the feeling towards these residents and their "Not In My Backyard" attitude. These people are living in a different world and what a better place it would be if we could actually move them to a different planet to complete their selfish, sad and lonely lives.

The people who objected to this should be named and shamed, including those on the council who agreed. Life in Gray's Lane wouldn't be very quiet if the men and women of our armed forces weren't around to defend them.

I have several colleagues who have been through Headly Court, and a current colleague who is due to spend some time with them in the near future after a major op on his ankle. He has two young girls (under 10), who, while he is at Headly Ct want to visit thier daddy to make him get better quicker, could the residents who object let they girls know why they can't visit daddy!! Any one who objects to this accomodation should make a visit to a conflict area to see for themselves how the guys n girls get the injuries warranting a stay at Healdly Court. If I had a multi Million pound house, the families could stay in one of my few empty rooms!
