It seems that the guestbook software is throwing a few glitches. We've had a few reports of random "permanent bannings" and posts disappearing. Please accept our apologies if either of these happen to you and, if you want to enter a message but it won't allow you, feel free to email your message and the name / location you'd like put to the email on the home-page

We've found that the vast majority of Ashtead residents are overwhelmingly supportive of SSAFA, Headley Court, the Armed Forces and our campaign. The 90 or so objectors, and their attitudes, do not represent most Ashtead residents from everything we've seen. Please, in thanks to all those people, bear that in mind when posting!

Thank you to everyone who's helped achieve this wonderful result. We've known from the outset that the concerns raised were misplaced. SSAFA and the families concerned will now have the chance to prove that. We know they'll be more than equal to the task.

Oh, and thanks for all the fish

 I've only just seen the news on BBC1: one clip showing one man stating (IMO foolish)reasons why he didn't want the building to go into the hands of SSAFA. One lady stated that she believed the true reasons is that 'some' just don't any change to the area and cannot adapt. I personally think she was hit the nail on the head and it was really selfish issues that initially prevented the application.

Congratulations to you all, well done in pushing a worthy cause.

My faith has been restored.

I'm sure that the fears of the objecting residents will prove to be unfounded, time to mend fences.

My husband is at headley court and i'm so please people are supporting this great cause...!
The supporters should be so proud of themselves. The people opposed to this scheme... hold your heads in shame!!!!

 Fantastic result and not unexpected. For thos residents who feel they have been railroaded - thats simply not true and with time I'm sure you will come to realise your concerns were unfounded and will realise this decision is for the better of us all.

That webcast was the best cliffhanger I've seen in ages with a great happy ending...
Now what can we do to ease the ill-will of the objectors so it can be a real "Disney style" ending with everyone the best of friends?
