As a resident of Ashtead I am very pleased with the decision that MVDC came to. I am though concerned at the vilification of some of the residents who I am sure did not fully consider the ramifications of their opposition, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Now that so much publicity has been whipped up by so many people, it would be a shame to waste it, my feeling though is that it should be pointed towards the government, who have put our people in this position in the first place, but are happy to let a charity do the work that they should be doing.

Top Result. Well done to the BLUE Team, and those certain individuals who put so much work in with very little sleep (and do the day job). Watched/recorded the webcast, very dignified and emotional. Common sense prevailed in the end. Congratulations to ALL concerned.

Congratulations on the successful campaign. Perhaps this will bring the message home to all who wish to ignore the Armed services and the tasks that they are asked to perform.

Job done then.
The pity is that it had to be done at all, but there you go.
Hopefully the residents of Gray's Lane and the facility can co-exist without rancour or conflict and attention can be refocussed where it is deserved - on the wounded and their families.
Not forgetting those families for whom having their loved one at Headley Court would actually be good news.

Well done the Blue Team Excellent result. Would like to agree with Airborne_Aircrew's comments, the NIMBY's have lost tonight, but baybe with some soul-searching they will come to agree with the decision and even help to make it work for those new occupants at 36 Grays Lane.
Many, many thanks to all the 'street walkers', int cells and shiney a** involved, not forgetting the civvies. I'll stop now because my screen is going blurry for some reason
