I don't wish to sound harsh. but, I wish the people against this project had a son, daughter, husband, wife, mother or father need the help and rehabillitation that Headley Court gives. Then they might think twice about their small minded objections. This life is too short to worry about petty things like traffic increase in their community! We are all humans, we are all living in the same country. Lets pull together and give these injured people..(who fight for all of us) the help and compassion they need to get well. Mentally as well as physically! That would be easier with their loved ones close by!

To Mrs White (or whatever the troll's real name is):
A mate of mine recently went to Afghanistan. You may have seen him, his photo is in today's newspapers. You'll be glad to hear that neither he nor his family will have any need for the Grays Lane house, as he'll be coming home in the next few days - in a box.
Words cannot describe the complete and utter contempt I have for those who are against this project. How they can open their curtains in the morning and be exposed to the outside world is beyond me.
And to think we call football hooligans "sub-human".

Richard that is so true! I am originally from Yorkshire and would be gutted if this happened on my stomping ground! Having served and thankfully, not having to pay a penance in flesh nor brain, I cannot begin to understand these cowards in our midst. Yes I know cowards is a 'big' word, but then so is amputee!!!
As an ex-squaddy, I sometimes feel so ashamed that I came out unscathed, physically. Yet I am typing this with real tears running down my cheeks.

Mrs White. Your comment only shows you and those with you to be so short sighted, as to think that because a family put their house on the market, and a well established supporter of the British forces has obtained the building, to do good for those in need of rest and peace whilst visiting their wounded family member is recovering from whatever injury they sustained whilst fighting for this counties Government, to enable people to have the freedom we enjoy. Well Mrs White all i can say is 'SHAME ON YOU'

I once lived in Ashtead and cannot believe the so-called residents worries???? I think that if they themselves had to go to Iraq or Afganistan then maybe they would appreciate a place like this. I am in no way connected to the Armed Forces, but I believe that they do this country and ALL it's people a great service. How dare people say that grieving relatives will cause too much noise, this really angers me !!! These people are there to vist the very people that have defended our country. Come to Northumberland and build your hospital here, we wont argue the point !!!

Was just reading the piece on resident's concerns and came across the covenant bit. The part which comments on one family occupancy, although blatantly untrue, wouldn't have an impact on number 36 anyway. Quite simply the Forces ARE one family and showing just how close a family we are in this particular situation!
