I was married to a soldier and work with them every day. I empathise with the pain and anguish that soldiers and their families have to go through. This is a fantastic project and I know of at least one local family who would benefit from this. Keep up the good work

Having "been there" I wholeheartedly support this project. It will give peace of mind to both relatives and to patients. Shame on the objectors ,you should remember why you are English and have freedom, paid for by the men and women of the armed services , you owe them this at the very least. WW

I read the first three objections. They were a load of piffle so I did not bother to read the rest.
Links to this site, the Petition etc have been placed on 1. The Black Watch Site and 2. Forces Reunited site.
Good luck to all.

Thomas, you're right when you say that all the planning issues should be looked at,however the recommendation to refuse, based on a loss of peace and quiet, had already been addressed and dismissed and,ENV22 is for new developments only, all the criteria having been met for the original build, which means there is no case to answer, which makes the recommendation mischievous to say the least. :nono:

My heart bleeds for these poor people who will have their lives so badly disrupted by the presence of injured servicemen and their families being in their vicinity. Whatever happened to the 'Dunkirk spirit' It makes me ashamed to be British ! These people only speak for themselves, not the rest of us.

The utter impoverishment of the people living in their million pound houses objecting to the honour of having service families staying in their community is horrific. Imagine what they are teaching their children - when the children grow up perhaps they will shun their parents when they become elderly and frail. I dont know any military people, my family is not military and so far my life has been untouched by war and I really dont see what relevance that has - I just support the military and am very very proud of what they stand for.

Lisa, if you have any questions at all please put them in the guest book, as you have done so far.
You don't have to broach them as full comments. Just number them and put them down. We wont be insulted, although we may ask for clarification if needed.
Even if you are not sure of something, or heard someone else say something just whack it down on the book and we will answer it honestly and truthfully.
This goes for anyone in Ashtead, or surrounding areas, who is unsure of anything to do with this matter.

I would be honoured to have you guys in my street. If you were in my street I would let the relatives use my driveway and I would offer assistance with things like gardening, maintenace, etc.
I cannot believe the attitude of the residents. They represent the worst of our society
