This is for all those who are opposingthis,First of all I think what these people are doing is very selfish, down right despicable! How dare they insult all our brave men and women in uniform.who fight everyday to preserve your freedom, while I am american I support all of the Armed forces and our allies. The cost of freedom just isn't a right,it's a privelge they are abusing, their objections to this is not only selfish but absurd.Shame on you people!May God have mercy on their souls if it is right that he do so!My thoughts, prayers and blessings to the wounded and their familes know you our all loved and blessed!

I spent time at Headley Court - what an amazing place. Who exactly do these Ashtead objecting residents think they are ? I am appalled at this. Are they not embarrassed ? This is such a simple thing...

It is heartening to see the number of positive responses from the good people of Ashtead who, having been made aware of their good name being sullied by the small minded minority, have taken action by showing suypport here and writing the council's planning department.
Ashtead has not yet lost its self respect - in fact it appears to be in rude health - and getting ruder!

To face the enemy everyday To face there fears come what may The soldier stands and fights his ground No matter what the enemy throws around
They are the best the country has to give And to a man they all want to live But sometimes fate has a hand to play The soldier will bravely face that one day
Loss of limb or loss of mind In Headley court they are there to find These brave souls, a band of brothers but an un pleasant sight to many others
As boys and men we fought for Crown Now it’s against a few in a Surrey Town They don’t want to our injured brethren there For they don’t know how much we care
We feel the loss when we lose one man We try to help old comrades when we can We may no longer be able to serve the colours But we are here to serve our band of brothers.

I take it some of the objectors have or have had, close relatives who have served in the service of our Country and who go out and buy a poppy each year and spill crocodile tears in their blessed memory. I'm just so pleased that the vast majority of Ashtead residents are for this application. Those who object can rest assured that this will not go away, no matter how much they try to influence local people on the planning committee. To the objectors I say this. Don't bother next poppy day, keep your money and pray to God that we continue to turn out fine Men and Women who are prepared to put themselves in harms way for your sake and all our sakes.

The kind of people who are objecting to this,i think, are ignorant snobs! just who do they think keeps them safe in their nice houses, nice area & cosy, bland lives?? The Armed forces thats who!! I've lived in Surrey all my life,& i must say i am disgusted at their attitude, they clearly know very little about what brilliant neighbours the military are! It has been my distinct privilege & honour to have worked all my life as a MOD civil servant for the Army,in my opinion, the finest years of my life, long to continue.& yes, this is my personal view. These people need to take a long hard look at themselves & remember who it is that does all the fighting to try & keep evil at bay, while they sit cosy at home!

To all acting in support of this fabulous campaign. Well done, you should be proud of yourselves and what yu have achieved to date. I will keep my fingers crossed for Wednesday.
For all the residents of Ashtead - please write in support of the application to MVDC. The more that write the more compelling the case to ignore the few poorly thought through (and I hope now regretted) applications.
