"I hope the Bastow Family are satisfied with themselves, it is after all their greed that has caused this controversy, they will be laughing all the way to the bank."
No Mrs White, it is shameful attitudes of the few who have caused this embarrassing episode. Embarrassing for you, and embarrassing for the United Kingdom in the eyes of the global community. Do you not feel ashamed when you read comments on here from people disgusted by your sickening stance, from places as far afield as the USA. Do you not feel ashamed when people as upstanding as Dr Liam Fox speak out against your sickening attitudes?
You and the rest of your NIMBY neighbours (who I very much believe are in the minority) have done far more damage to the reputation and standing of Ashtead, than SSAFA could ever do.
Shame on you, Shame on you.

Your average squaddie has a job to do and just gets on with it; we get paid and we enjoy the work, taking the rough with the smooth. However, I think we do expect (and hope), if the worst comes to the worst, that the people who stay in their comfort zone will do the right thing for the families of those who suffer in the line of duty. You don't have to die to be a casualty of war, and the partners and families of those maimed and crippled need all the help they can get. We wish we could do more. The folk in Ashtead could do something positive.

Mrs. White ,they can sell their house to whomsoever they like, for whatever price they agree. Much as everyone else currently selling property in Grays Lane and close by is currently doing. Are they also greedy?
Selling a house is not controversial. But the circumstances and motivation surrounding the objections have raised a few eyebrows.
I repeat my invitation to Mr.Le Versha to speak to us.

Just reading a few lines at random on the comments makes me feel that I have no need to say much more, you have all done it for me, and I wholeheartedly agree. But I would like to say to the ARA and any resident who feels that this project should not go ahead (if they read this of course), you should all be ashamed that its gone this far and all your reasons are so petty and down right selfish it beggars belief. If and when I drive through Ashhtead, I will look at it in a completely differently, shame as descended big time.

My husband serves with the Royal Navy - those residents with their unbelievably purile and callous objections should be suitably ashamed.
