I had not previously been aware of this web site until I listened to the BBC news this morning (1 Aug 07). I have spent the last hour looking over the site, reading, learning more and generally being impressed. Well done, this is top quality stuff, well researched, well delivered and I am not surprised you have achieved the aim. Outstanding and moving.

It is good to see that common sense prevails for once and the council have seen this worthwhile cause for what it is and not what some would portay it as. Congratulations to all who have worked hard to see it to a satisfactory conclusion

I became aware of this issue through a link provided by one of our forum members, which I then researched and wrote a piece about on my own Yahoo Blog. I've watched the whole story unfold with interest ever since and now, what a wonderful result! There are still happy endings in this world, amazingly enough. I am really happy for all of you and congratulate everyone involved. Fantastic!

Well done. I do hope the families enjoy staying in Ashtead and that they will receive a warm welcome. (Most of us really are not toobad!) I am very pleased that MVDC planning committee showed such strength and sense.
Good luck.

To Barbara of Ashtead. I understand your views completely ... we had a couple of roads in Camberley of similar character [in all meanings of the word]. Full of self-centred, self-aggrandising, "We have arrived" individuals. I know, because I lived in one of them !!! However, let's just look forward to a better prospect for those families who have given so much, and let those objectors in Gray's Lane [and others] ponder on what they have done. God bless the Councillors and Officers, and the people of Ashtead who supported the cause.

So very pleased this has got through. Anyone who has a bit of knowledge about SSAFA would know that anything SSAFA has to do with is always above board,of the highest quality and very worthwhile.
SSAFA are always after volunteers to help with their case working.
Contact your local branch to see what you can do for them.I have been helping them out with visits to various clients for a couple of years and really recomend the experience. A truly wonderful charity to be associated with !

What a great result, it would be fabulous if everyone who signed the petition now donated £10 each to SSAFA to help pay for this much needed facility. Now that would be showing support, perhaps more difficult than a few clicks of a keyboard but a huge boost to SSAFA. I know I am going to, so come on, I throw out a challenge!
