It seems that the guestbook software is throwing a few glitches. We've had a few reports of random "permanent bannings" and posts disappearing. Please accept our apologies if either of these happen to you and, if you want to enter a message but it won't allow you, feel free to email your message and the name / location you'd like put to the email on the home-page

We've found that the vast majority of Ashtead residents are overwhelmingly supportive of SSAFA, Headley Court, the Armed Forces and our campaign. The 90 or so objectors, and their attitudes, do not represent most Ashtead residents from everything we've seen. Please, in thanks to all those people, bear that in mind when posting!

Thank you to everyone who's helped achieve this wonderful result. We've known from the outset that the concerns raised were misplaced. SSAFA and the families concerned will now have the chance to prove that. We know they'll be more than equal to the task.

Oh, and thanks for all the fish

The memorial is dedicated to all those who served and died in the Armed Forces over the last 4 decades.These men and women died to save our way of life and they are now being denied the right that while they recover from their injuries .their families have no were to stay because a few selfish people can only think of them selves.have they heard the word patriotic.

As an ex serviceman I know only to well that when you are needed to put yourself on the line there is all the verbal support in the world. It is afterwards that the true colours are shown, the actions of these people make me ashamed to be British.

You all may not be alive to-day to even consider saying no I don't want this house in my neighbourhood, save but for these Courageous Men and Women who have put their very life on the line for the likes of you people, SHAME ON YOU ALL, I SAY HOW DARE YOU ANY ONE OF YOU DENY THIS REQUEST, YOU DON'T LIKE IT IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD,,SELL YOU BLOODY HOUSES AND MOVE ELSEWHERE, IF THE GOOD FOLK WILL HAVE YOU.

I served in enough trouble spots to know the value of ssafa and other organizations, please keep up the good work, the house is needed big time.i have signed the petition, lets hope it works. They have the cheek to say it might make them a terriorist target those people where the target in Iraq, Afghanistan. Stop being selfish and think of others who give more than them sitting on there backside doing nothing.

Admin reply: Johaughton, I can't see a post from someone in Mitchum. Hopefully one of the other Admin got in before me and deleted if it was offensive.

Please don't let this book turn into a slanging match though. If someone writes something that you think is inappropriate, let us know and we'll look at it asap.
